One of my Rescues
Since I am not running a not for profit orginazation here, it is not legal for me to accept donations. I have thought about how I could accept donations without breaking the law. Since I use my profits to pay for everything medical that I do for my resues, and I do not refuse any chihuahua in need, it is really hard for me to keep affording to do all this. As soon as room becomes available on my credit card, I am charging it up again with another surgery. Then, after I spend let's say $800 getting a dog ready for adoption, I cannot even find someone willing to pay $300 for him/her because they can find a younger more social dog somewhere else. Sometimes it takes a year or more to find a kind hearted person to adopt some of these dogs who already lived a less than perfect life and need to be placed in a loving home asap to start enjoying life. My kennels are nice, and no one here wants for anything, but some one on one attention is always better than any kennel life I could ever offer. Here is my idea to help these guys get into homes quicker. If you want to help one of my rescues, all you need to do is become a part owner. If the price for the dog is $300, you can pay however much you want towards the price of the dog to get the price down to an affordable level so that retiree that cannot afford the dog, can now afford him/her. As each person becomes a part owner, I will post the ammount you have pledged on my website under the dog's picture. Each time someone buys a part of the ownership, the price goes down. I do not let my low priced dogs or any dog, go to unapproved homes either. I do check them out, especially the ones that pay nothing for the dog. The last thing I want to do is treat a dog for heartworms only to give him/her away to someone that lets it happen again. I will call that person's vet to prove they have a history of proper care, or the person does not get the dog. If they have no vet history, they do not get the dog. It just goes that way with me. 9 out of 10 people looking for a free dog from me are not approved, but that 1 out of 10 that is was worth finding. A lot of people have the money to medically address a dog's needs, but just do not believe in spending money for dogs when there are so many that need homes. If you want to become a part owner, just tell me which dog you want to help, and we will get the ball rolling. I sure could use some help with these medical bills. If I do not get help, I may not be able to continue to accept dogs that are in super need. Please help me help these guys.
